Mustangs Finish Strong to Handle Bobcats

Auburn, ME – For thirty-five minutes, the Bobcats played and stayed with the Mustangs.  For the last five minutes, the Mustangs left them in the rearview mirror.  A 16-6 run in the last five minutes triggered the Mustangs and they went on to beat Paul Smith College 87-79 tonight in cozy Kirk Hall.

Jaeden Henderson led the late surge hitting for 6 points on two nifty moves to the basket.  Workhorse Malik Farley took care of the rebounds, and Corey David sealed the deal hitting two critical threes down the stretch.

In a game where CM controlled play, the Bobcats were relentless and would not succumb.  Matthew Monebon kept the visitors in the game hitting three after three.  He finished with 15 points.

The Mustangs took an uneasy five-point lead into halftime 39-34. DeMarco McKissic (8 points, 8 rebounds) and Josh Chery (game high 23 points and 14 rebounds) carried the squad in the first half. A quiet Malik Farley (0-6) in the first half lit a spark and went 5-6 shooting and took down 10 rebounds, almost all in the second half to keep CM in front.

Jordan Dudgeon came off the bench to play 31 minutes and shoot 4-9 from the floor including two threes.

CM takes some time off for Turkey day and will be back in action on December 1st at Great Bay.
