SeaWolves Baseball Takes Two In Concord

CONCORD, N.H.—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) baseball team took two from the NHTI Lynx in a non-conference doubleheader on Saturday, Sept. 25.

Game 1: W, 11-1 (6 innings) | BOX

Emerson Tucholski (Westlake, Ohio) earned the start and the win for the SeaWolves throwing 2.0 innings of two-hit baseball. Tyler Apodaca (Kittery Point, Maine), Alex Grabowski (Plainville, Conn.), and Liam Jann (Philadelphia, Pa.) came on in relief to combine for seven strikeouts and one walk—allowing no hits.

Nine crossed home plate for the SeaWolves in the top-half of the second inning, adding one in the third and another in the sixth to finish the game by way of the 10-run rule.

First-years Andrew Martin (Dracut, Mass.) and Joseph Townsend (Scarborough, Maine) each finished with multi-hit and multi-RBI games.

Game 2: W, 15-0 (6 innings) | BOX

First-year Kalin Marum (Port Kembla, Australia) tossed 4.0 innings for the SeaWolves in game two, getting the win and punching out seven. Thomas Knott (Winterport, Maine) and Anthony Sayers (Benoni, South Africa) each pitched an inning, and the three combined to no-hit the Lynx.

First-years Gabriel Rivera (Caguas, Puerto Rico) and Justin Colon (Aguada, Puerto Rico) teamed up for seven RBI and five hits in nine plate appearances- Rivera with a home run.

Next, SMCC will travel to Central Maine Community College to face the Mustangs in Auburn, Maine on Monday, Sept. 27. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
