Week 1 YSCC Soccer Player of the Week Awards

(YSCC) - The Yankee Small College Conference is pround to announce our soccer Week 1 Player of the Week awards:

WOMEN'S SOCCER
Samantha Severing | Paul Smith's College | FY | FO

Samantha Severing netted a hattrick over Northern Vermont University Lyndon to lead the PSC Bobcats to victory on the road this past weekend.

MEN'S SOCCER
Thomas Ferguson | Vermont Tech | SR | G

Thomas played the entire game in two games against very tough opponents. In the first game vs Fisher College, he had eleven saves on fifteen shots and helped hold the scoring for most of the first half. This week's second game against NVU Johnson showed a similar pattern, with 16 shots and thirteen saves. The game film will show you that the scores could have been much higher for the winning teams if not for Thomas's spectacular goalkeeping in these games.
