SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine (YSCC) – The Mustangs of Central Maine Community College (CMCC) are the 2022 Yankee Small College Conference Volleyball Champions.

The Mustangs defeated regular-season champion Paul Smith's College Bobcats 3-2 in a hard-fought, five-set battle to win the championship. Led by YSCC Player of the Year Aaliyah Smith and All-Conference player Tiara Begishe, the Mustangs took control of the match in the fifth and deciding set, winning 15-4. 

The Bobcats, led by All-Conference players Louis Jordan and Alexandra Cherry, opened the match with a first-set win 25-19. The Mustangs took the next two sets, 25-12 and 25-21. The Bobcats took the fourth set 25-11, to force the decisive fifth set. 

Paul Smith's got to the finals by beating the #4 ranked NHTI Lynx in three straight sets. CMCC defeated Southern Maine CC in three straight sets.
