SMCC women move on to YSCC Championship game

AUBURN, Maine (YSCC) -- The women of Southern Maine Community College will move on to play in the Yankee Small College Championship game after a 72-53 win over the University of Machias Clippers.

The game was close early, as the Clippers fought to tie the game at 15 after SMCC scored the first eight point of the game.

The Seawolves, led by YSCC Player of the Year Amanda Brett (29 points, 13 rebounds) pulled away and never looked back the rest of the way. Priscila Berdeja finished with 15 and YSCC First Team All-Conference player Abby Ramirez finished 11 points and 11 rebounds.

The Clippers played tough all game, led by YSCC First Team All-Conference player Tate Dolley with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Abbey Allen finished with 14 points for the Clippers.

The Seawolves will face the winner of (1) CMCC Mustangs - (5) NHTI Lynx game on Sunday at noon.
