Caitlin LaFountain, University of Maine at (Jr, F - Topsham, ME , 21)

LaFountain had two monster performances for the Moose this week; netting 20 points and grabbing 20 rebounds against CMCC along with 8 blocks. She followed up that game helping to lead the Moose to a victory over UMFK with a 23 point performance and notching 16 rebounds. LaFountain was a perfect 17-17 combined from the charity stripe against CMCC and Fort Kent.

LaFountain enters her junior year at UMA after two very strong freshman and sophomore years. As a sophomore, LaFountain started 21 games, averaged 13.4 points per game, grabbed nearly 8 rebounds per game, and was named an academic all-American. During her freshman season, she started all 33 games and was an important part of her team?s national tournament.

A 2014 graduate of Mt. Ararat, LaFountain excelled in Basketball and Field Hockey. She was a captain her senior year. She earned a spot on the All-Conference Rookie Team for both field hockey & basketball her freshman year. She was All-Conference First Team player for field hockey sophomore through senior year as well as All-Conference Second Team for basketball sophomore through senior year. LaFountain was an All-State Field Hockey Selection in 2013, a Maine McDonalds All-Star in 2014 as well as a KVAC Senior All-Star in 2014. She earned a spot in the National Honor Society in high school and made high honors.

Her parents both attended the University of Maine at Orono and were both student-athletes. LaFountain's mom was a basketball player and her dad played football. She has a younger brother named Alex.

In her spare time, she enjoys knitting, Netflix, working out, and hanging out with friends and family.
