MACHIAS, Maine—The streaking Southern Maine Community College men's basketball team won its fourth consecutive game against Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC)-opponent University of Maine at Machias 85-57 on Saturday, Jan. 21.

Junior captain John Morgan (Sanford, Maine) led all scorers in the game with 25, recording his fifth 20-point performance of the season. Morgan made 12 of 22 from the floor and added seven rebounds in 26 minutes of play. Sophomore Dylan Silvestri (Pelham, N.H.) notched his fourth double-double of the season with 15 points and 11 rebounds, shooting an efficient 60 percent from the floor. Calling themselves the Bash Brothers, Morgan and Silvestri combined for 40 points and 18 of 32 from the field. Sophomore Ryan Cloutier (Pelham, N.H.) also scored in double-digits with 12.

The SeaWolves opened the game on a 15-6 run and outscored their opponent by an 18-point margin in the first half. Morgan was an efficient seven of 10 from the floor in his first 12 minutes of action. SMCC held a 31-point lead, its largest of the afternoon, midway through the second half to roll to a 28-point victory.

SMCC out-rebounded the Clippers by 24 and limited the home team to 35 percent shooting. The SeaWolves committed just nine turnovers, the fewest in a game all season.

In a post-game interview, Assistant Coach AJ Burton commented, "The way that our guys have come out and played in the past few games shows what this team is capable of. We are starting to click on all cylinders and need to continue our momentum by coming to work every day."

The SMCC men improve to 9-2 in conference play and are the first among YSCC teams to 16 wins, standing at 16-4 overall. With six games remaining in the regular season, the SeaWolves remain one game back of Central Maine Community College in the North Division standings.

The action continues when the SeaWolves welcome the 3-14 Moose of the University of Maine at Augusta to the HUB Gymnasium for another North Division YSCC contest on Wednesday, Jan. 25. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m.
