SeaWolves Triumph, Set Season Highs

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine— The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) men's basketball team dominated in a 116-38 Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) win over Hampshire College on Friday, Dec. 8.

All 13 on the SeaWolves' roster turned over the scoreboard in the 116-point performance at the Hutchinson Union Building, led by Oumar Keita's (Bridgeport, Conn.) 23. Keita fired 4-5 from three-point territory and added seven rebounds in his biggest game yet as a rookie.

Junior Ryan Cloutier (Pelham, N.H.) was an efficient 6-9 with 13 points. First-year Sean Bowering (Englewood, Colo.) made two three-pointers while first-year Marcus Bailey (Litchfield, Maine) totaled a season-high 11 points and seven rebounds.

Hampshire's Chris McCarthy led the charge for the visitors with 16 points on 7-13 shooting.

The SeaWolves shot the basketball the best they have all season at 58.3 percent from the floor and 50.0 percent from beyond the arc—posting 58 points in both halves.

SMCC gets to 5-2 in conference standings, 9-3 overall. Hampshire remains winless in YSCC play at 0-10.

The SeaWolves turn around to match up with non-conference opponent Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences on Saturday, Dec. 9 at The HUB. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m.
