SeaWolves Continue Offensive Surge

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine— The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) men's basketball team took care of business at The HUB on Friday evening by way of a Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) 92-48 rout of the Bobcats from Paul Smith's College.

This the fifth game in six days for the Bobcats, the team from New York finished their annual Maine tour in South Portland with a hobbled squad. Coming in, Paul Smith's allowed the fewest points to opponents of all YSCC teams— SMCC eclipsed this mark handily shooting 45.6 percent from the floor, 36 percent from three. Like the women, every SeaWolf made their mark on the scoreboard with 46 points coming from the bench.

Junior Ryan Cloutier (Pelham, N.H.) continues to have the hot hand going for a game-high 16 points— 2-3 from downtown and getting to the rim for high percentage shots. Sophomore Matthew Kenna (Titusville, Fl.) threw in a season-high nine points making three three-pointers and first-year Tyler Mickle (Billerca, Mass.) was named SeaWolf of the Game collecting seven points and seven boards.

Paul Smith's Adam Seguin scored a team-high 12 points and added six rebounds and three steals.

SMCC takes over third place in the YSCC standings at 7-3, 11-7 overall. Paul Smith's slips to 1-10 in league action, 5-15 overall.

Waiting on deck for the SeaWolves is Unity College on Wednesday, Jan. 17. SMCC is 53-5 all-time against the conference opponent and a perfect 11-0 spanning the previous five seasons. Tip off at The HUB is slated for 8 p.m. To watch tune in to SeaWolves LIVE TV.
