SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) men's basketball team dominated in a 113-70 Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) victory over the Moose from the University of Maine at Augusta at The HUB on Wednesday, Jan. 24.

The SeaWolves jumped out to an early 14-3 lead off the tip and went on to outscore the Moose by a 36-point margin going into the half. SMCC continued its scoring frenzy on 44.3 percent shooting, 53.6 percent from long-range, and out-rebounding UMA on the offensive side 32-13. The SeaWolves posted 53 in the second to get up as much 52.

Eclipsing the 100-point mark for the fourth time this season, six SeaWolves contributed with double-digit scoring led by junior Ryan Cloutier (Pelham, N.H.) with 19—his fifth consecutive game with 13 or more.

Both Cloutier and captain Dylan Silvestri (Pelham, N.H.) scored their 800th career point in the game and Silvestri moving up the ranks in all-time rebounding, now in sole possession of #6 with 558.

First-year Oumar Keita (Bridgeport, Conn.) notched his first double-double of the season with 11 and 11 as first-year Sean Bowering (Englewood, Colo.) scored season-high 11 points.

Noah Thompson led the Moose with a game high 24 points and eight rebounds. Dustin Simpson-Bragg finished with his regular 16 points.

SMCC improves to 9-3 in conference play, 14-7 overall. UMA dips to 4-7 in the YSCC standings, 7-10 overall.

The SeaWolves get back to conference action in Amherst, Mass. when they take on the 1-11 Black Sheep from Hampshire College on Saturday, Jan. 27.
