Vermont Tech men move on to YSCC Elite 8 Semifinals

CONCORD, NH (VTC) - The Vermont Tech men's basketball team started out a bit slow, with no scoring in most of the first 3 minutes of tonight's game vs Unity College in the Yankee Small College Conference Basketball Tournament.  Unity held the game close for much of the first half, with the lead chaning hands several times, but the Knights were able to go up by 12 at the half.

The Knights seemed to get into their zone in the second half, not making many mistakes and rolling to a 90-61 victory by the end of the game. The Knights were led in scoring by Cameron Carter (SR, Atlanta, GA) with 24 points, followed by a fantastic performance off the bench from Tyrone Hilson (FR, Chicago, IL) with 19 points. Coach Alex Tyrrell said of the game "We are right where we want to be for tomorrow's matchup. We are playing well, and we know that we can take the win tomorrow to move on to the final."

The Knights take the floor Saturday against Central Maine CC at 6pm at NHTI in Concord, NH.
