CONCORD, NH (CMCC) -- In the first round of the Yankee Conference Tournament, Elijah Barbour hit for 26 points to lead the Mustangs to a 92-82 win against the Moose on Friday.
In a back and forth afair in the first hal, CM utilized their bench to wear down the Moose. The Mustangs went to the locker room up 38-37 at the half. At the 10 minute mark of the second half, the Moose jumped out to a 7-point lead behind Dustin Simpson-Bragg to make the score 60-53. After a Mustang timeout CM went on a 6-0 run and slowly began to overtake the tired Moose.
Contributing on the offensive end was Akeem Laurie with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists, Josh Chery hit for 9 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and Freddy Webb came off the bench to add 6 points and 9 rebounds. CM moves onto round 2 to take on Vermont Tech Saturday at 6pm. This win gives the Mustangs an overall record of 19-5.
