UNIONTOWN, Pennsylvania (NHTI) – The NHTI Men's Basketball Team advanced to the USCAA National Championship game for the first time since 2005 on Tuesday as the Lynx defeated Johnson & Wales Charlotte by a 98-76 final.
NHTI held a slight 40-38 advantage at halftime before erupting for 58 points in the final 20 minutes to pull away from the Wildcats.
Sean Riley (Washington, DC) led the charge with 22 points (8-15 FG, 0-4 3-FG, 6-9 FT) and four rebounds. J'Quavious Thurmond (Monticello, GA) continued his stellar play with 19 points (7-9 FG, 5-5 FT), 12 rebounds and five assists. Jymir Thompson (Philadelphia, PA) tallied 13 points (4-13 FG, 3-6 3-FG, 2-2 FT), three assists and three rebounds. Nassir Coleman (Philadelphia, PA) added a double-double with 12 points (5-9 FG, 2-7 FT) and 14 rebounds.
The Lynx will now face #10 Penn State Greater Allegheny tomorrow at 7pm for the USCAA National Championship.
