MEN’S SOCCER HAS SECOND STRAIGHT SHUTOUT AGAINST HAMPSHIRE COLLEGE

(COLLEGE OF ST JOSEPH'S) -- College of St. Joseph's men's soccer team defeated Hampshire College 11-0 yesterday. The Fighting Saints dominated the match from start to finish, putting up more goals than they had in all of their previous games combined.

Alex Andrade started the scoring for CSJ at the 10 minute mark and the team never stopped attacking. Alex Andrade would go on to score another two goals as the game went on, earning him a hat trick. Dominick Simpsonalso had a hat trick on the game, with two of his goals coming in the first half and the third goal in the second half.

Itamar Mane added two more goals for the Saints, while Doug Campbell and Keven Andrade chipped in one goal each to round out the scoring for CSJ.

The Saints dominated the match in every aspect. They had 26 shots on goal, making it a very long day for Hampshire goalkeeper Forrest Jackson. Jackson actually played well, saving 15 shots, but the attack from CSJ was too much for him to handle. The Saints also had three more corner kicks than Hampshire.

CSJ is now 2-4 overall on the season after winning their last two games. They look to keep their winning streak alive when they host Central Maine CC on Sunday, Sep. 18 at 3 p.m.
