RANDOLPH CENTER, Vermont (VT) - The Green Knights took a 1-0 win over NHTI at home on Wednesday to advance to 3-3 overall and 2-0 in conference. The Lynx fall to 1-3.
Both teams traded attacks throughout the first half. The Knights managed 8 shots to the Lynx's 5. The Lynx keeper was consistently where he needed to be and tallied 4 saves. The lone goal came on a penalty kick in the 40th minute by captain Matt Brien (Colchester, VT).
The second half began with a furious attack by the Knights including a near-miss by Brien off the crossbar. The heat soon subsided, and again the teams traded attacks. NHTI pressed hard throughout but the Knight's coordinated back line always answered allowing only 2 shots on goal.
The Knights retake the field on Sunday for their third conference game of the season, at Central Maine Community College.
