SeaWolves Outnumbered By Lynx Balanced Attack

CONCORD, N.H.— The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) men's soccer team was conquered 5-1 by the Lynx of New Hampshire Technical Institute (NHTI) in more Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) action on Wednesday, Sept. 20.

NHTI looked possessed from the opening kickoff, getting on the board four times inside 11 minutes. The Lynx' Tim Bortnick netted the first two before Jackson Schneider and Jeremy Caruso joined in with a score of their own.

The Lynx would take a commanding 5-0 advantage courtesy of Kwizera Claude at the 75-minute mark, however the SeaWolves would match in the second half on a penalty kick taken by first-year Hanssen Casey (Eliot, Maine) with four minutes left on the clock.

SMCC's goalkeeper Patrick Duddy (Sedgwick, Maine) now leads the conference in saves, recording six on the afternoon.

The SeaWolves dip to 0-4 in conference play, 0-5 overall—meanwhile the Lynx roll to 2-4 overall.

SMCC looks to regain its stance in the YSCC standings when they welcome the 0-2 Hampshire College on Saturday, Sept. 23. The teams split in their previous two meetings, dating back to the 2013 and 2014 seasons. Kickoff at Wainwright is slated for 3 p.m. Follow the action LIVE: http://www.gosmccseawolves.com/sports/msoc/2017-18/boxscores/20170923_cgqi.xml
