NHTI, College of St Joseph's to face off in YSCC Men’s Soccer Championship

CONCORD, N.H. – The NHTI men's soccer topped the University of Maine Machias, 5-4 in the Yankee Small College Conference semifinal match.

Lynx junior Jeremy Caruso (Pembroke, N.H.) netted the game winner in the 83rd minute to complete the 5-4 come from behind win. 

The Clippers scored a pair of goals in the first three minutes of play. Senior Ridwan Hassan (Portland Maine) opened the scoring in the second minute of play.  SophomoreLorenzo Segura (El Paso, Texas) doubled the lead less than a minute later.

Lynx junior Jake Davis (Manchester, N.H.) cut the lead in half in the 18th minute on an unassisted goal. UMaine Machias answered a minute later to regain the two goal lead on a goal form senior Haidar Al-Freihy (Grey, Maine).

NHTI made it 3-2 on a Jackson Schneider (Manchester, N.H.) goal. The Lynx evened things when freshman Yusfu Juma (Manchester, N.H.) found junior Cole Owens (Hollis-Brookline) in the 48th minute.

Hassan gave the Clippers the lead for the second time, 4-3 a minute later. NHTI hung around and evened the score in the 79th minute on a Dominc Plourde (Manchester, N.H.) goal to make it 4-4.

College of St Joseph beat Unity 3 - 1 to advance to the YSCC Men's finals against NHTI Sunday at 11:30 a.m.
