NHTI Finishes Season third in USCAA National Tournament

CONCORD, N.H. - The NHTI Lynx fell to Carlow University Wednesday to finish the season 28-4 and ranked third in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association's National poll. The best finish for the program to date. The season began with a loss before reeling off 24 wins in a row.

 

A loss in the Yankee Small College Conference to The College of Saint Joseph's before the national tournament in and a loss in the first round were the only to back-to-back blemishes on record. The loss to Penn State Hazleton, 2-1, in the opening round forced the Lynx to play from the loser's bracket for the rest of the tournament. NHTI knocked off Penn College 8-0, Cleary 4-1, St. Joseph's 8-0, and Penn State Brandywine 4-1 in the quarterfinals before falling to in the semifinals.

 

The finished earned Tory Lemay (Manchester, N.H.) and Hannah Seidner (Pembroke, N.H.) a spot on the USCAA All-Tournament Team. Lemay, 3-2 in the tournament, boasted a 1.17 era with 28 strikeouts and six walks while giving up six runs over 30 innings. Seidner hit .471 while scoring six runs on eight hits, three stolen bases, and three RBIs. Jenna Beaulieu (Troy, N.H.) also had eight hits batting .421 with four RBIs and a double.

 

The Lynx have earned a bid to the USCAA National Tournament three consecutive years with this season topping their fourth place finish from two seasons ago.
