Mustangs roll on to YSCC Championship

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine – The Central Maine Community College women's basketball team moved on to the Yankee Small College Conference Championship defeating Vermont Technical College 107-60 Saturday afternoon.

The Mustangs play the winner of the Southern Maine Community College and University of Maine at Augusta game.

CMCC had four different players in double-digits, as YSCC Player of the Year Susie French led the way with 30 points and six steals. Teammate Gabby Foy was six for 12 from the field including four three-pointers for her 15 points. Laura Soohey turned in a double-double scoring 15 points and netting ten rebounds while Samantha Bruce and Jamie Swart contributed 15 and 11 points respectively.

Three separate Mustangs dished out five assists, coming from Hanna Champagne, Jasmine Ramos, and Lexi Larson; part of 28 total assists for CMCC. Vermont Tech was led by Paige Wells who dominated the boards with a game-high 20 points while scoring 18 points. Ama Baker led the Knights in scoring with 21 points and six assists.
