NHTI Women's Basketball Run Past Springfield Tech

CONCORD, N.H. (NHTI) – The NHTI women's basketball team topped Springfield Tech CC 89-57 in non-conference action as part of the Hogan Camps Holiday Festival at NHTI on Saturday afternoon. The Lynx bounce back after a loss at Southern Maine CC on Thursday.

The Rams only held the lead once early in the 1st quarter and did not lead again. The Lynx outrebounded the Rams 66 to 41.

Lynx freshman Michaela Biron (Colebrook, N.H.) scored a game-high 23 points and added seven boards. Junior Melissa Martel (Derry, N.H.), sophomore Riselly Deoleo (Manchester, N.H.), and sophomore Bridget Lavin (Danbury, N.H.) also scored in double-digits for the Lynx with 17, 15, and 10 points respectively. The Lynx improve to 5-4 overall.

Springfield Tech was led by sophomore Jamie Staples (Amherst, Mass.) with 21 points and 6 rebounds. The Rams fall to 6-4 overall.

Both teams are in action Sunday, December 3 as NHTI hosts Paul Smith's in YSCC action at 2:15 and Springfield Tech plays Word of Life Bible Institute at NHTI. Tip-off at 4:15.
