LADY SAINTS FALL TO HAMPSHIRE COLLEGE 8-0

(COLLEGE OF ST JOESEPH'S) --College of St. Joseph's Women's Soccer team suffered another defeat yesterday against Hampshire College, ending with a final score of 8-0.

Hampshire started their scoring barrage within the first four minutes of the game and they never let up. Natalie Strohm led for Hampshire, scoring four goals and putting constant pressure on CSJ's defense.

Hampshire took 17 shots throughout the match, while CSJ was only able to get off two. Both shots for the Lady Saints were taken by Brittany Hance. It was a tough game for CSJ, but they continued to build better habits, moving the ball into the attacking third of the field more than any previous game.

Goalkeeper Florence Tavares added another seven saves. She currently leads the USCAA in total saves with 68 overall and ranks fourth in the YSCC in save percentage. She has at least 20 more saves than any other goalkeeper in the USCAA.

The Lady Saints are now 0-5 on the season, still searching for that elusive first victory. They will be back in action this Sunday, Sept. 18 when they host Central Maine CC at 1 p.m.
