Women’s Soccer Plays To First Draw Of Season

UNITY, Maine— The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women's soccer team played the Lady Rams of Unity College to a 0-0 draw that ended in regulation due to darkness on Thursday, Oct. 5.

The Rams entered play a perfect 3-0 at home where they had allowed just one goal to opposing teams all season. Likewise, SMCC ranks second among conference opponents in goals against average (GAA) allowing just 1.13 per game.

The SeaWolves were unable to convert one of their 10 shots before recording their first draw of the season. SMCC goalkeeper Shea Couture (Rochester, N.H.) notched her fourth clean sheet of her rookie campaign with three saves in 90 minutes of action.

SMCC remains the second seed owning a 3-1-1 YSCC record, 4-3-1 overall. Unity stands one spot below sporting a 4-2-1 conference record.

The SeaWolves return to the pitch when they play host to Central Maine Community College in a non-conference game on Tuesday, Oct. 10. Follow all the action LIVE beginning at 3 p.m. at Wainwright Recreation Complex.
