Griffin Lifts Lady Clippers Ahead of SMCC

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine— The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women's soccer team was held scoreless at Wainwright Recreation Complex in a Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) date with the University of Maine at Machias on Saturday, Oct. 14.

Clippers' Josie Griffin created for herself and managed to get one by SMCC goalkeeper Shea Couture (Rochester, N.H.) at the 56:56 mark to give Machias a 1-0 road result.

SMCC doubled the opposition's shot total with 20, landing more than half on frame. The SeaWolves looked poised for a goal with 11 corner kicks but the Machias defense wiped them away, Aisling Farragher-Gemma registering 10 saves in the game.
