2013 Volleyball Players of the Week

Amber Rodney, NHTI

(Senior, Setter- Farmington, NH)
Rodney was named MVP of the YSCC Volleyball Championship tournament because of her strong play. In the semi-final's versus Unity College she had 32 assists and in the championship game versus U-Maine Machias she added 42 assists. Rodney has been a solid performer for the Lynx all season long.

Rodney is a senior volleyball player from NHTI. In three matches this week she had 51 assists to lead the Lynx. Her week was highlighted by a 36 assist and 7 dig effort versus Castleton.

Brittany Leick, Unity College

(Senior, MH- Port Allen, LA)
Leick lead the Rams to a conference win over UMaine Machias to secure the #1 seed in the YSCC playoffs.  In that match she had 14 kill with a hitting percentage of .448.  She also had 11 aces and 9 digs.

Michelle Demko, Unity College

(Senior, Setter- Mountaintop, PA)
Demko was selected to the NHTI Volleyball Tournament All Tourney Team and helped lead the Rams to a third place finish.  In 2 conference matches, Demko had 52 assists, 16 digs and 5 kills.

Kyrstyn Ransom, UMaine Machias

(Senior, Setter- Enosburg Falls, VT)
Ramson helped lead the Clippers to two wins with 28 assists and 7 kills.  Machias is now 3-1 in conference play.

Rodney helped lead the Lynx to a win over NCAA DIII opponent Lyndon State with 37 assists.

Alex Smith, Unity College

(Junior, Setter- Havre de Grace, MD)
Smith's versatility helped lead the Rams to a 2-0 start for 2013.  From the setter position, she had 11 kills, 18 assists, and 6 digs.
