YSCC Announces Word of Life-Davis joining YSCC in the fall of 2024
Jan 14, 2024

The YSCC is proud to announce the addition of Word of Life Bible Institute-Davis as its next full-time member, starting in the fall of 2024. The Huskies have been a part of the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Conference since 2019. The Huskies have been grateful to have been a part of the HVIAC for the past 5 years and wish the conference well.

"I am excited to join the Yankee Small College Conference! Moving to the YSCC provides the opportunity for all of our athletic teams to compete in conference competitions, which is important to us as we look to grow. I believe this move is in the best interest of our athletic department, both in terms of sports and the mission of our institution." said Word of Life-Davis Athletic Director Matt Layton.

Yankee Small College Conference Commissioner John Daileanes and President Matt Richards also made statements on behalf of the Yankee Small College Conference.

Said an enthusiastic YSCC Commissioner Daileanes, "The YSCC is excited to announce Word of Life Bible Institute-Davis College as its eleventh full-time member institution. Through our conversations with administrative members of Word of Life, YSCC membership quickly realized that Word of Life-Davis was a perfect fit based on their educational mission, commitment to the quality of student-athlete experience, emphasis on sportsmanship, and vision for the future of the conference."

From President Richards: "As the YSCC continues to provide quality athletic experiences for our student-athletes, the addition of Word of Life Bible Institute (WOLBI)/Davis College keeps with our mission in providing those opportunities. The staff and administration at WOLBI/Davis College have shown a strong commitment to sportsmanship, healthy competition, and quality student-athlete development. Their membership into the YSCC allows us to further our commitment to provide quality small college athletic experiences within the Northeast."

The Huskies will be joining a very competitive conference in the YSCC and will be looking to be competitive when the move is made in 2024. The Huskies will be the 3rd school from New York State to join the YSCC with Paul Smith's College (Saranac, NY) and Albany College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences (Albany, NY) and will be the 11th member of the YSCC starting in 2024. The YSCC also has member schools in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont.
