Central Maine's Samantha Belardo wins USCAA DII Women's Soccer Player of the Week

(YSCC) - The Yankee Small College Conference is proud to announce the athletes of the week awards for Week 5 of the 2019-2020 Fall sports season. Extra congratulations to Samantha Belardo of the Central Maine Community College Mustangs Women's Soccer team for winning this week's USCAA DII Women's Soccer Player of the Week. 

WOMEN'S SOCCER

Samantha Belardo | Central Maine CC

In a 1-1 week, Belardo tallied four goals against Unity College in a 4-0 win. She followed that up with an assist on Saturday vs. CCRI. Samantha takes home the USCAA DII Women's Soccer Player of the Week

MEN'S SOCCER

Nathan Tshibemba, Southern Maine CC

First-year defender Nathan Tshibemba redirected a free kick set piece in the final minute of the double-overtime period in SMCC's 1-0 win over Central Maine Community College on Monday, Oct. 14. The SeaWolves conclude their regular season at 11-2 overall.

VOLLEYBALL

Ohrisha Ranger | Paul Smith's College

Paul Smith's College went 2-1 this weekend, and Ohrisha played some of her best volleyball this season. Ohrisha played the best of her career, getting 19 kills on 78 attempts and seven blocks for 26 points scored.

WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY

Maria Potvin, Vermont Tech

Maria led the women's XC team in the Women's first international XC race in Montreal, Canada, last Saturday.

MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY

Tyler Dunham, Vermont Tech

Tyler ran first for Vermont Tech in our first international meet in Montreal, Canada. He ran 31 minutes in the 8K race in hilly terrain.
