YSCC Players of the Week - Fall Week 6
Here are the Yankee Small College Conference Players of the Week for week six of the fall season.
Men's Soccer - Mitch Cameron (CMCC)
Sophomore midfielder Mitch Cameron continued his impactful season for Central Maine CC, netting a pair of hat tricks in conference wins over NHTI and VTSU–Randolph. The Northwich, England native totaled six goals and an assist on the week, helping the Mustangs stay unbeaten and ranked #1 in the USCAA. Cameron currently sits second in the USCAA in goals, points, and shots.
Women's Soccer - Aubrey Gilbert (SMCC)
Sophomore goalkeeper Aubrey Gilbert had a great game in net for Southern Maine CC, making 12 saves in a full 90-minute effort to help the Seawolves earn a draw against Central Maine CC. Gilbert finished the match with a .923 save percentage.
Golf - Aiden Boule (NHTI)
Aiden Boule had a great showing for NHTI at the two-day USCAA Golf Championships in State College, PA. The first-year from Concord, NH shot rounds of 74 and 73 to claim 3rd-place overall on the individual side, picking up 1st-Team All-American honors.
Volleyball - Hanna Fuerst (WOLBI)
Sophomore Hanna Fuerst helped lead Word of Life to two key conference victories this week over Vermont State and ACPHS. Fuerst tallied 23 kills, 27 digs, and 3 block assists across eight sets, while hitting at a .237 clip.
Men's Cross Country - Gavin Sampson (York County)
Freshman Gavin Sampson made history for York County CC, setting a new school record in the 8K with a time of 27:48 at the Runnin' Monks Invitational hosted by Saint Joseph's College.
Women's Cross Country - Kayleigh Simpson (ACPHS)
Senior Kayleigh Simpson matched her career-best 5K time, clocking a 22:18 to finish in the top 25 at the NJIT Invitational. Competing in a NCAA Division III–heavy field, Simpson's performance helped lead Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences to a third-place team finish out of 12 programs.
Baseball - Caleb Oickle (CMCC)
Freshman outfielder Caleb Oickle powered Central Maine CC to a strong finish to the fall season, hitting .500 over five games. Oickle helped lead the Mustangs to two wins over UMaine Augusta with a home run and four RBIs, then fueled a three-game sweep of UMaine Fort Kent with five more hits and eight RBIs — including a grand slam. He finished the week with a .625 on-base percentage and .833 slugging percentage.
