Bobcats Go 2-1 on Weekend, Build Momentum Heading into Thanksgiving Break

Paul Smiths, NY & Johnson, VT ~ The Paul Smith's College women's basketball team showcased grit and growth over a packed weekend, finishing 2-1 in three games as they dropped a game to SUNY Potsdam Friday before roaring back to defeat Southern Maine CC on Saturday and VSU Johnson on Sunday.

Game 1: SUNY Potsdam 69, Paul Smith's College 50

The weekend began with a tough out-of-conference matchup against SUNY Potsdam.  Despite their best efforts, the Bobcats fell to the Bears, unable to overcome the hosts' balanced attack.

Game 2: Paul Smith's College 91, Southern Maine CC 64

On Saturday, the Bobcats made history by securing their first-ever win over YSCC-rival Southern Maine CC.  The commanding victory was fueled by a career-best performance from senior Holly Bagley (Bloomfield, NY) and a dominant defensive showing.

•​Jordan Louis: 15 points, 6 assists, 6 steals

•​Finnley Jacobson: 14 points (7-11 FG), 6 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 block

•​DaVyne Johnson: 13 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals

•​Delani Osborne: 7 points, 9 rebounds

•​Carley Simmons: 7 points

•​Jillian York: 7 rebounds

•​Hayleigh Gates: 5 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block

Game 3: Paul Smith's College 74, VSU Johnson 47

The Bobcats capped off their weekend with a dominant win over NCAA Division III opponent VSU Johnson.  Strong contributions from across the lineup highlighted the team's depth and focus.

•​Holly Bagley: 6 points, 4 assists

•​Carley Simmons: 3 points

The Bobcats sit at 3-3 overall and will enjoy a well-earned break before returning to the court at home on Tuesday, December 3rd, to take on Bryant & Stratton Albany.  Tip-off is set for 6:00 PM in what promises to be another exciting matchup.
