The home opener for the lady herons immersed the school with noise as the lady Herons won their first victory at home against Unity College on September 11th, 2018. This season opened stronger than ever and notably because freshmen starter and captain, Kayleigh MacDougall brought her talent and tenacity to the court. Kayleigh?s phenomenal performance and strategic gameplay secured the win for Great Bay. Although it was a team effort and many other players had a terrific performance, Kayleigh?s presentation as a freshman outside hitter was one to remember. Kayleigh is a powerful outside hitter which electrifies the school every opportunity she gets at the net. She is always playing to the best of her ability, sacrificing her body during plays with exceptional diving saves! Kayleigh is an integral part of this program and continues to build not only her performance but her teammates as well. Kayleigh had a notable eleven kills, five aces and five digs versus Unity College. Unity did a great job digging many of Kayleigh's threatening attacks at the net, but Kayleigh continued to contest. Not only was Kayleigh's performance exceptional, but she continues to be a key asset and influential player continuously shaping and transforming the Volleyball program at Great Bay Community College.
