SeaWolves Set To Play For YSCC Title

CONCORD, N.H.—The Southern Maine Community College men's soccer team defeated the Fighting Saints of the College of St. Joseph (Vt.) 2-0 in its Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) semi-final game on Saturday, Oct. 22.

Both teams played to a scoreless first-half until sophomore Brandon Ford (Rochester, N.H.) put his team on the scoreboard at the 71-minute mark. 10 minutes later, co-captain Hugues Bakunda (Lille, France) found the back of the net to double the SeaWolves lead. Douglas Cloutier (Berwick, Maine) orchestrated the attack recording his ninth and 10th assists of the season to secure the 2-0 victory.

SMCC goal keeper Patrick Duddy (Sedgwick, Maine) notched 17 saves to improve on his conference leading save percentage (.873).

The SeaWolves are set to face the Clippers of the University of Maine- Machias on Sunday, Oct. 22. To play for the YSCC Championship title. Kickoff is scheduled for 11 a.m.
