Machias advances, SMCC falls first round of women's soccer playoffs

The University of Maine at Machias women’s soccer team advanced to the second round of the USCAA Soccer National Championships with a 2-0 victory over ninth seeded Warren Wilson Wednesday afternoon. The Clippers (11-4-4) came in to the tournament as the eighth seed and will take on defending national champions and first seeded University of Maine at Fort Kent on Thursday morning at 11:30 a.m.
Women's All-Conference Team Announced

CONCORD, N.H. - The 2015 Yankee Small College Conference Women's Soccer All-Conference Team was announced at the conclusion of the YSCC Championship Tournament hosted by NHTI. Freshman Kym Hendrix of Southern Maine Community College took home Player of the Year honors for the East Division, while NHTI's Shannon Hart earned Player of the Year in the West Division.
SMCC women's soccer team enters first national championship tournament

The Southern Maine Community College women’s soccer team will play in the first United States Collegiate Athletic Association National Tournament next week, when the team travels to Asheville, North Carolina as the number seven seed.

The pairings are set for the Yankee Small College Conference Soccer Championship this weekend at NHTI. The regular season ended last weekend and the four play-in games have been completed to add the final two teams for both men and women.

SMCC's Hendrix named USCAA player of the week

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - First-year forward Kym Hendrix scored a pair of goals for the Seawolves on the week, including the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over conference opponent NHTI. Hendrix also scored the only goal in a 2-1 loss to the University of Maine at Machias.
